The duo studied the models in dozens of races at chantilly track north of Paris and developed a model that took into account the winning strategy for three different races: a short one (1300 metres), a medium (1900 m) and a slightly longer one (2100 metres), all with different starting points on the same curve. The model not only take into account the different race distances, but also the size and curvature of the curves, and any slope or friction from the track surface.
