Tehran’s historic schools will be better maintained and cared for based on a trilateral memorandum signed by the Hbcu Schools Matter Historical College Alumni T-Shirt Ministry of Tourism and Education and the Tehran City Government.
The agreement was signed Wednesday night by Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Crafts Ali-Asghar Mounesan, Education Minister Mohsen Haji Mirzaee and Tehran Mayor Pirouz Hanachi in an effort to revive the schools “ eternity “across the Iranian capital, ILNA reported on Thursday.

“Historical relics are part of our national identity …… With its [rich] historical background and precious [cultural] heritage, our country is home to countless historical relics. “,” Mounesan said on the sidelines of the signing ceremony.
“Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education also has schools that are considered valuable historical relics and in addition to the tangible heritage there are also intangible heritage due to a number of reasons …” He added.
According to Mr. Mounesan, the Hbcu Schools Matter Historical College Alumni T-Shirt agreement could pave the way for the launch of “school museums” along with other museums and cultural heritage sites that could help boost tourism across the country.
The signatories met at Alborz High School, a pre-university unit located in the heart of Tehran. The school, which is an exemplary historical college in the country, is named after the Alborz Mountains, north of Tehran.
The Hbcu Schools Matter Historical College Alumni T-Shirt school was founded as an elementary school in 1873 by a group of American missionaries led by James Bassett.
In 1932, the school received a permanent charter from the Board of Trustees of New York State University.
In 1940 and during World War II, Alborz was removed from American stewardship and under the auspices of the Iranian Ministry of Education. The school’s name was changed from “College” back to “Alborz”, and it was restored as a high school.
In 1944, Professor Mohammad Ali Mojtahedi, a member of the Hbcu Schools Matter Historical College Alumni T-Shirt faculty of the University of Tehran, was appointed rector of Alborz. From then until 1979, and continuing after the Islamic Revolution, Alborz had one of the most successful periods in its history.
There are other perfect examples of historical schools in Tehran such as Dar ul-Funun, founded in 1851.
According to Encyclopedia Iranica, the student population during the first year reflects Dar ul-Funun’s immediate popularity, with about 105 students enrolled in seven main subjects. Dar ul-Funun has an airy garden surrounded by walls with Persian poetry engraved on decorative tiles. Parts of the property have recently been manually restored with the aim of turning it into an educational museum.
