The six arts and culture centres in the province closed on March 13 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then the management and staff of the centres have been working with NL Public Health to create a framework allowing performances to resume and audiences to return to the theater.
That framework was announced in a news release issued Friday by the Arts and Culture Centres of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Ticket sales for fall performances will start on Tuesday and at this time the focus is on supporting touring acts and emerging artists from the province.
To ensure physical distancing, online ticket sales for 2020 performances will be suspended and patrons will need to call the box offices Monday to Friday from noon to 6 pm to book tickets.
Every second row of seats will remain empty for all performances happening in 2020. Staff will also block off three seats on either side of purchased tickets to ensure physical distancing between bubbles/patrons in the same row.
Everyone entering and moving through the centres are required to wear a mask and asked to the physical distance while waiting to enter the theatre, picking up tickets and in any common areas. Masks can be removed once people are seated inside the theatre.
Hand-sanitizing stations will be available throughout all buildings, and there are increased cleaning protocols in place. Staff, including ushers and box office personnel, will also wear masks while interacting with the I like beer and my Labrador Retriever and maybe 3 people vintage shirt public.
Other changes include shorter showtimes, no intermissions, and no bar or concessions, and restrooms will be open with a restricted capacity based on size.
Services at 17 public libraries in the I like beer and my Labrador Retriever and maybe 3 people vintage shirt province will also resume on Tuesday in a limited capacity for access to materials and returns.
Newfoundland and Labrador Public Libraries stated in a news release on Friday that due to the variety in location, size and staff capacity at each branch, the resumption of public library services across the I like beer and my Labrador Retriever and maybe 3 people vintage shirt province will be a staggered approach. Operational hours at each location will vary.
The number of patrons allowed to enter a branch at any given time will vary, and masks are required.
Library staff have been supplied with appropriate personal protective equipment, and circulation desks have been outfitted with Lexan barriers. High-touch areas, such as computers and desks, will be sanitized frequently after each public use.
Directional arrows will be used to direct foot traffic, and physical distancing will be required.
Patrons will be encouraged to continue placing items on hold for in-branch pickup in an effort to minimize browsing and unnecessary handling of materials. Computer access will be limited to one hour per day per patron.
Bathrooms will not be open for public use, and reading nooks, children’s play areas and meeting rooms will not be available. All in-branch programming remains suspended.
