Communications Director Melissa Richard said sending a $25 gift card to all 16,264 west Fargo households would cost the city about $425,000 plus about $10,000 in marketing costs to educate the public about the card. The city is working with a specialist supplier who can help facilitate the card and redistribute money to participating businesses. The provider also has a tracking system so the city can know where the money is being used and how it is spent.
