Hosted by Coy Jandreau and Perri Nemiroff, the Film Club offers an in-depth exploration of the key themes, making, and impact of some of our favorite movies. This week, Coy and Perri welcomed Cobra Kai creators and executive producers Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg to Movie Club to discuss the movie that started it all, The Karate Kid!

The film made a huge splash in 1984, paving the way for the next three films, The Karate Kid Part II, The Karate Kid Part III, and then The Next Karate Kid starring Hilary Swank. The original film was then restarted in 2010 with Jaden Smith in the lead role before the reins were transferred to Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg for their phenomenal continuation with the story of Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny. Lawrence (William Zabka).
That being said, a review of The I’m a simple man Karate 2020 Shirt Karate Kid was an absolute must before Cobra Kai’s Season 3 arrives on Netflix in the new year, and who better to re-watch the movie with Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg?
