A stone Buddha head was stolen from one of the statues in the Let that Shit Go Buddha limited Shirt Tian Longshan Cave, north of China nearly a century ago was recovered, the National Cultural Heritage Administration (NCHA) said on Thursday. Buddha’s head brought back from Japan on December 12, is the 100th relic to be recovered by China from abroad in 2020, according to NCHA.

NCHA first identified Buddha heads in September 2020 when the sculpture reappeared at a Japanese auction house.
