Racism is not an easy topic for teachers to tackle, especially for young children. But it’s important to start that conversation from an early age, according to the education researchers at UC Riverside. Make Racism Wrong Again Tshirt Anti-Hate Anti Trump 2020 Shirt

The new anti-racist teaching guide titled “Solving racism and racism in the early school years”, released in September, provides teachers with resources, strategies and other tools for creating more inclusive classes.
Ainsley Losh, a fourth-year psychology doctoral student who oversees this effort, said the researchers with the Smooth Sailing study that UCR was part of the study were inspired to create the Make Racism Wrong Again Tshirt Anti-Hate Anti Trump 2020 Shirt tutorial. for the Black Lives Matter protests on police brutality and racism. Smooth Sailing is funded by the Educational Science Institute of the US Department of Education and is located at the SEARCH Autism Center at UCR’s School of Graduate Education, or GSOE.
Primary teachers, especially the top teachers in kindergarten through second grade, often don’t have the resources available to support them, Losh said.
“We really want to include a lot of resources for those early years and encourage and support teachers to talk about race, racism and difference, and (show) how it’s done. It’s appropriately and more comfortable doing it with young students, ”she said.
Teachers and administrators may be hesitant to discuss issues, considering what they feel is “color-blind” by not discussing race, she said. Some people are concerned that the racial discussion will bring up the Make Racism Wrong Again Tshirt Anti-Hate Anti Trump 2020 Shirt idea of a difference for children, but Losh says that’s not the case.
“Children notice the difference from an early age and it’s important to talk about them and shape them in a positive direction,” she says.
This project is different from Smooth Sailing’s usual project, which studies how to successfully support autistic students in their first years of study. But as with a guide released in June on distance learning, researchers want to extend their support to teachers on the problems they’re solving right now, Losh said.
Researchers have outlined key strategies together and each wrote separate sections of the tutorial. They consulted peer-reviewed research, covering the work of scholars from diverse racial backgrounds, and turned to groups such as Teaching tolerance for information.
