Swallow, starring Haley Bennett, is being released exclusively on MUBI on October 31st in select territories across Europe. This is a stellar psychological thriller film written and directed by Carlo Mirabella-Davis, which had a brief US theatrical screening in March 2020.

Swallow is not a movie for the Official Once You Put My Meat In Your Mouth You’re Going To Want To Swallow Shirt, Hoodie, Tank top, Sweater faint of heart. Some scenes are difficult to watch, but this story of eating disorders is the story of a woman trapped in a secretly toxic relationship.

Swallow tells the story of Hunter (Haley Bennett), a young woman newly married to Richie (Austin Stowell). As his name implies, Richie comes from a wealthy family and has just been promoted to his father’s company.
As soon as they settle into their new place, Hunter finds out that she is pregnant. As the Richie family grew increasingly in control, Hunters began to feel the urge to eat inedible objects, starting with a marble. The objects she swallows will become more and more dangerous.

Swallow is a tense horror movie that quietly takes place within the confines of the house. There was a sense of peace in the images contrasted with what Hunter was doing. It is a disturbing calm.
The condition described in Swallow is known as “pica”, a compulsion to consume inedible objects and materials. Pregnant women and children are often affected by this compulsion.

This swallowing of these increasingly dangerous and inedible objects clearly made Hunter a sense of satisfaction in the face of the poisoning of Richie and his parents.

Swallow is a stellar debut film by Carlo Mirabella-Davis, with executive producer Joe Wright and with visceral images of cinematographer Katelin Arizmendi. Haley Bennett, who previously starred in the recently released Netflix NFLX + 0.6% The Devil all the Time movie, had an impressive performance in Swallow. There was something extremely touching in the way she portrayed this soft-spoken young woman suffering from an eating disorder and a toxic relationship.

Swallow was released in theaters in the Official Once You Put My Meat In Your Mouth You’re Going To Want To Swallow Shirt, Hoodie, Tank top, Sweater US by IFC Films on March 6, but with the outbreak of the coronavirus, it was soon released on digital platforms. Swallow is currently screened exclusively on MUBI in LATAM (eg Mexico), Netherlands, Scandinavia, India, Greece, Czech Republic & Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, South Africa, Indonesia, and not exclusively in Australia.
