For the Official This Is my Christmas Farmer Cow Pig Sheep Shirt, Hoodie, Tank top, Sweater past 30 years, I have had two Christmas trees, each of which has been around for a long time. My current tree is a small, white artificial tree that I only need to plug and unplug every year, completely decorated in the basement. Its forerunner was an upper branch of a tulip tree that I cut down in a friend’s yard and decorated and re-plugged every Christmas as it was fully decorated. This tree is my Charlie Brown Tree: ugly, spare, loving. –Dan Smith

One of the things I cherish in my heart is spending Christmas with my family. My brother and I were adopted when we were just babies. My adoptive parents took us to the Roanoke Hotel every year for Christmas to celebrate our adoption (we were adopted in December – a great Christmas present!). I remember all the beautiful Christmas decorations, the waiter threw our Caesar salad into a large wooden bowl by the side of the table, and most of all, when I was just a little girl, my dad taught I dance slowly while the pianist plays for us. band. We had many family celebrations at Hotel Roanoke and the hostess always made them all so special to us. –Becky Ellis.
