A man has been charged with arson and causing unfortunate body damage after a police officer suffered serious burns in an incident in Cornwall.

According to Devon and Cornwall police, Blagovest Hadjigueorguiev, 30, will appear in court on Saturday to face three charges.
Hadjigueorguiev is accused of deliberate arson, causing aggravated physical harm with intent against a police officer and attempting to cause compromised bodies with intent against the Police public cat box shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater second officer, who was not injured.
Police were called to Trevenson Road in Newquay at 10.20 am on Friday morning after reports of a man acting aggressively as the deputy carried out deportation on private land.
While at the scene, an unnamed 51-year-old officer suffered “a number of burns to his arms and legs,” the force said earlier.
Sheriff Ian Drummond-Smith, commander of Cornwall police, tweeted that the officer – who is well known in town and a former army veteran – had been transported to the Police public cat box shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater Royal Cornwall Hospital in Treliske.
‘He was then transferred to Derriford Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition. He sat up and was in good spirits,” Drummond-Smith said.
The officer’s injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening. His family is on duty by the hospital bedside and is supported by the functional forces.
A suspect has been shot by police and an officer injured after an alleged burglary at Cabela’s outdoor entertainment store in Abbotsford, B.C.

Abbotsford Police said they were called to the store in The McCallum Junction shopping centre at 3.16pm. on Friday in response to an ongoing theft.

Other officers eventually arrived, surrounded the man with a drawn gun, shouted at him and shot him with some kind of ammunition.
The second suspect was taken into custody without incident and the Independent Investigations Office is investigating the shooting.
