Taiwo was born and raised in the Stubborn Husky Tricks Ugly Christmas Sweat Shirt Seattle area; His father, Joseph, was a twice Olympic athlete for Nigeria. One of Taiwo’s main goals throughout his sporting career was to match his father’s mark on the two Olympics.

“I had a great time at UW,” said Taiwo. “I think the next level of competition is pretty good and there’s also personal freedom to pursue my interests.”
Taiwo competed for the Stubborn Husky Tricks Ugly Christmas Sweat Shirt Huskies from 2009 to 2013, becoming a five-time all-US champion and a 2011 Pac-10 champion in a ten-sport event. Even with all that success, Taiwo can still learn and grow during his time at UW.
Jeremy Taiwo participated in an awards ceremony during the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Championship after finishing second in ten triathlons. After making waves in the NCAA arena, Taiwo participated in the 2016 Olympics as a part of Team America.
“I think the term ‘trial and error’ will probably best suit my sporting experience and how I become a better athlete and person,” said Taiwo.
Outside of the track, Taiwan has been equally successful, having been named the Stubborn Husky Tricks Ugly Christmas Sweat Shirt Comprehensive Learning Team of the American Association of Athletics and Athletics Coaches each year he competes as a Husky. Taiwo was able to take his time off the track to embrace everything UW had to offer and excel in the classroom – especially when he’s injured.
The triathlete has suffered fair injuries during his time in Washington, including spending an entire season on the sidelines. His constant injuries and recovery have allowed Taiwo to develop as an athlete and a human.
“When I went to UW, I really knew what it was like to be injured, recovered, re-injured and healed,” Taiwo said. “This helped me develop this attitude to see the next obstacle as the driving force.”
An example of how Taiwan can overcome and use its injuries as motivation is at the 2011 Pac-10 Championship. Three weeks before the meeting, Taiwo tore UCL at his right arm. and he asked “Tommy John” to have surgery so he could throw it back with his right arm. Instead of voting for surgery and not playing, Taiwo instead decided to throw in with his left arm. Even with his amputee arm, Taiwo was able to win ten disciplines at the Pac-10 Championship.
