A man was killed in the house fire early this morning in East Wenatchee.
The fire was reported at around 5am in the 2500th neighborhood of the Sunset Highway, just outside the city limits.
The Douglas District 2 Fire Service and Chelan County’s District 1 Fire District responded.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the man was the only man in the house.
Sheriff Kevin Morris said the man’s identity would be confirmed after an autopsy. Morris said he was thought to be in his 70s and lived with a working adult daughter at the time of the fire.
“Right now there is nothing to make investigators believe that is suspicious,” Morris said. “We believe it was accidental.
