The McGowan Government wants you to consider Work and Wander out Yonder as they launch a campaign to promote local jobs in agriculture, tourism and hospitality throughout the WA region.

The WA region is experiencing significant labor shortages in a wide range of occupations commonly available to international backpackers as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The McGowan government today launched the ‘Work and Wander out Yonder’ campaign – promoting local employment in agriculture, tourism and hospitality across the WA region.
With destinations like Margaret River, Wheatbelt, Exmouth and Esperance, the campaign calls for 18-30 year olds to embrace the opportunity to earn money, gain experience and have an unforgettable backpack adventure in the Worry less wander more shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater Home State their.
“This year, young Western Australians have a unique opportunity to become a backpacker in their home State. We can’t travel overseas, but get a once-in-a-lifetime working vacation in WA ”. Mr. McGowan said.

Starting this Sunday, September 6, the broad outreach campaign will feature digital, radio, television, print, home and social advertising channels. all over WA.
The McGowan government has partnered with Seek and Studium recruitment services to connect employers and job seekers through the campaign website. Employers are encouraged to advertise on these platforms, with job seekers being able to subscribe to their interests.
“There are thousands of different jobs available in the Worry less wander more shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater regions right now and this campaign will help those positions be filled by local workers or anyone currently in WA.” Mr. McGowan said.
The McGowan government is also in the final stages of developing a regional labor incentive plan, which will provide accommodation and travel assistance for people moving to areas for farming.
