‘Sometimes, when activity at our places of eating and favourite places declines, we have to be creative if we want to keep binoculars skills fresh. Today, September 27, Margo and I boarded the Bird Watcher I’d Rather Be Bird Watching Shirt Seven Seas Whale Watch out of Gloucester on an 11 a.m. trip to Stellwagen Bank National Maritime Reserve. Captain Jay noticed we were bird players and said he would help see the birds.
“The temperature is 70 degrees cooler with humidity reaching 80% and winds blowing about 8 miles per hour from the Northeast through the Gulf of Maine. On the way to the breakwater, we spotted more than 60 large black-backed girls and about a lot of herring gurls. We witnessed first-time the magnificent seagull saw in the Bird Watcher I’d Rather Be Bird Watching Shirt area, but was unlucky.
“As we left the harbour, in addition to the Dog Bar and Eastern Point Lighthouse, we counted about 20 common raptors and at least 50 two-headed coke. At the same time, a small herd of dolphins in the harbour fled the boat, the first marine creature we had ever seen. There were smiling gululls and a few Bonaparte gulag drifting in the water and flying, but the Bird Watcher I’d Rather Be Bird Watching Shirt further away from the harbour we were, the fewer birds we noticed.
“In the distance, there is a fog band, not something that hinders whale watcher, but is also not the favourite maritime report of bird observers. Fortunately, the fog was soft enough to keep the sky clear, and along with seeing our first humpback whale at about 11:30 a.m., we also obtained about 5 gannets, 3 shearwaters, 2 seabirds and 5 pythons, which was an unexpected treat.
“As we sailed across the shore and rocky outs, the number of seabirds increased along with the rise of marine mammals. By 12:30 p.m., we had seen a sunfish swimming fins above the water, and the whales had provided a lot of action catching flukes and jumping reconnaissance. Between 5 and 6 minutes of mother and calf diving, we noticed sea swallows wherever the Bird Watcher I’d Rather Be Bird Watching Shirt whales emerged. These higher latitudes are feeding on marine mammals, and the birds we see are also part of that ecosystem.
“The boat turned its head and headed away from the shore with slight fog towards the shore again. It was about 2 p.m. when we saw a swarm of atlantic white-faced dolphins swimming along with our wake. There are many young in the middle along with adults that form a protective ring, moving around them.
“The number of birds gradually decreased and then increased again as we entered the harbour, the gululls remained busy as always. Captain Jay and his crew
