As high school sports season equilibrium, there is more at stake than just defeats for players like Port Charlotte’s Abel Marquez Jr.

While the starting left hand is about to become a senior looking to earn some more offers from Division-I universities, football has become more of a game for him.
“Football saved my life in a way, so I owe it everything,” he said. “In my second year, I went through a really tough time that I almost gave up on life. Then coach (Jordan) Ingman came into my life and gave me football.
“Since then, football has been everything to me. That’s my way out. ”
Born to a Nicaraguan mother and Cuban father, Marquez saw first-hand how hard work and determination can be rewarded.
His mother moved to America alone at the age of 20, unable to speak English. But she’s set an example by working steadily to support her family ever since Marquez said.
However, it took some time for the 285 pound-tall, 6-foot-5 athlete to realize how he could apply the It’s all fun and games until someone misses a scan shirt same effort into his own life.
Marquez grew up loving basketball, but when he entered high school, he decided to try football, as a simple way to pass time. After a year playing defensively on Pirates Junior varsity, he realized that he wasn’t really enjoying the game.
“My first year was freshman, but I wasn’t interested in football,” Marquez said. “Like all. I will find ways to quit the practice “.
As his freshman year is coming to an end, Ingman told Marquez he wants to move him into the attacking line and put him on the varsity team the next season. But Marquez didn’t want to play in the It’s all fun and games until someone misses a scan shirt O-line, and instead, he quit.
That summer, Marquez fell into a state of depression.
