Officers found the puppy on September 5 near Dauphin County Community Garden on Elmerton Avenue. He was wearing a necklace, but no one contacted reports of a missing dog.

Police took Auggie to the Santa Beagle Face Mask Christmas Light Christmas SweatShirt Harrisburg Regional Humane Society. A month has passed and no one receives puppies.

Corporal Tim Rogers suggested auggie recipients be one of them. Instead of coaching Auggie to become a tough K-9, he will be the official friendly face of the station.

“We’re still used to having him here,” Officer Tim Parrey explained. “Have him as a member of the family, know his needs, when he needs to go out, when he needs to stay, what kind of homework he needs and everything in between.”

Auggie is lovely, curious and contemplatit. Police hope he will make them more accessible to the public. Although Susquehanna Town Police believe they rescued Auggie, it is clear that he was the one who was saving them.

“If the officers took a night shift and started rotating their day shifts, we might feel tired and quiet but as soon as we saw Auggie, that changed the whole emotion in the department,” Officer Caroline Robinson said. “We immediately put a smile on his lips and he was all energetic and happy to meet us, which brought some energy to us and certainly had a positive impact on our department.”
