In March, Oculudentavis’ first known amber skull caught global attention, appeared on the cover of the science journal Nature and drew wide media attention, including National Geographic. At the time, scientists interpreted the 14 mm long skull as the preserved remains of an early toothed bird with lizard-like eyes.
