To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote, 22nd annual exhibitions in Delaware’s Chautauqua, Women’s Work: Commune Change Campaign Assembly, which will be shown from noon to 8:30 pm, Thursday and Friday, September 10 and 11, from the 19th amendment suffrage women’s vote 1920 2020 100th anniversary shirt Zwaanendael Museum in Lewes.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Chautauqua shows will not be performed in front of a live audience, but instead will be streamed via Zoom.

Women’s Work: The Social Change Campaign will showcase the passionate efforts of those in need striving towards one goal – gaining the right to vote for women and participating equally in mainstream life. national governance, society and economy. Through both individual and group stage performances, lectures and musical performances, Chautauqua’s guests will be immersed in the women’s election movement and experience the movement’s impact on with Delaware and its people.

Activities will be limited to performances by actors-historians from the American Historical Theater depicting famous suffering Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Alice Paul and Carrie Chapman Catt, as well as concert music by the Women’s Orchestra Project.

As a supplement to the Chautauqua 2020, identical versions of the show’s Nothing less: Delaware, Women’s Rights and Equal Rights were installed at the Zwaanendael Museum in Lewes.

Created by Delaware Humanities, the screen consists of two- or three-sided columns that contain information and images about the electoral movement in Delaware from 1848 onwards.
